STM32 Read Device ID Exercise

Task

When a new board arrives, an engineer checks two things first. Does their code really run, and is the chip the model they expected? The chip can answer that itself. Its model number is inside it, at a fixed address.

Read this chip's model number and print it, like this: ID:0x10076413 The address is in the Datasheet tab, under DBG.

Circuit

Block diagram: U1, an STM32F4 whose exact part differs from test to test, sends USART1 TX on PA9 to a TP1 serial monitor, with a common ground

Pass condition

The line shows the ID code of the part under test. Each test runs on a different STM32F4.

Expected output for the STM32F407 case: the program prints the one line ID:0x10076413 after reset and nothing after it
